+ How much will it cost to help my child?
Effective treatment requires a commitment of both time and finances. Click here for more information about fees.
+ Do you take insurance?
All Thinking Tree clinicians are out-of-network providers. Please contact your insurance company to determine your out-of-network mental health benefits. Most families who receive reimbursement find that their insurance covers 50% to 75% of their session costs. For therapy services, this reimbursement can make the cost per session similar to an in-network co-payment.
Visit the link below for more information about how to check your insurance benefits. If you decide to seek insurance reimbursement, a monthly itemized statement will be available to you via our client portal. Use of a Health Savings Account (HSA)/Flex Spending Accounts (FSA) is another way to reduce the cost of therapy.

+ What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards, check or cash. We do not accept CareCredit card at this time.
+ I'm not sure therapy will fit into my teen's busy schedule. How can we make this work?
Online therapy, also called telehealth, could be a good option for your child. You want high-quality, specialized therapy services for your child, but you also need therapy that fits with you and your child’s lifestyle. Online therapy may be the answer you have been looking for. Through the use of a secure video chat, you and your child can receive effective mental health services from the comfort and convenience of your home. Learn more about our online therapy services.
+ What can I expect during my intake session?
Most of our clinicians meet with parents for the first session to understand the full picture of your child and your family. Both the challenges, and the strengths. The clinician will spend time getting to know you and your goals for your child. The clinician will ask follow-up questions about your child’s presenting concerns. As well as any history or background that our questionnaires have not covered. Most likely, you will find yourself talking about your child’s current symptoms or struggles.
Young adult clients will met with therapists individually unless they provide consent for parent(s) to attend.

+ How should I prepare for my intake session?
Gather and bring any documents that you believe would be helpful for your provider. When you make your appointment, our intake coordinator will provide you with instructions for completing online intake forms. Please complete these forms at least 24 hours before your intake appointment. If you experience difficulty completing the forms or have questions, please reach out to our support staff at 443-906-1132 or support@thinkingtreepsychology.com.
+ What will my child experience during their first session?
When your child meets with a clinician for the first time, time will be spent beginning to make a connection. Your child should feel safe, accepted, respected, and relatively comfortable. Use your intake session and your child’s first session to assess whether the clinician feels like a good match. Reach out to us if have any concerns. We will work with you to make sure your experience here feels right for you and your child.
