Cancellation Policy

Regular attendance is essential for therapeutic progress.  Plan for your child to attend every scheduled session.  If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give your child's therapist as much advance notice as possible.  We understand that unforeseen events such as car problems, traffic considerations, illness, and childcare concerns (to name a few) can occur; however, your child's therapist reserves time exclusively for your child's benefit, thus we have a policy regarding cancellations and missed appointments that is fair to you, your provider, and other clients who need appointments.  Missed appointments or cancellations with less than 24 hours notice are charged the full session fee.  With sufficient notice, an appointment can often be rescheduled; your provider also may be willing to hold a telehealth session. Please note that cancellation fees are not reimbursable through insurance.

Insurance information

All Thinking Tree clinicians are out-of-network providers. Please contact your insurance company to determine your out-of-network mental health benefits. Most families who receive reimbursement find that their insurance covers 50% to 75% of their session costs. For therapy services, this reimbursement can make the cost person session similar to an in-network co-payment.

If you decide to seek insurance reimbursement, a monthly itemized statement will be available to you via our client portal. Use of a Health Savings Account (HSA)/Flex Spending Accounts (FSA) is another way to reduce the cost of therapy.
